Hello, I’m Fr. Van Dung Tran and I was born in 1989 into a Catholic family in Vietnam. I am the second of six children - four boys and two girls - and the  second son in  the family. My father worked as a fisherman, and my mother was a homemaker.  I completed high school and college before entering St. Francis Xavier Seminary for the Diocese of Ha Tinh in Vietnam.

In 2019, I came to the United States and studied English in Wisconsin. I then pursued theological studies at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary of the West in Cincinnati, earning a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree, and was ordained to the priesthood in 2024 for the Archdiocese of Louisville.

I began my priestly ministry as Associate Pastor at St. Michael Parish, my first assignment, and have since served as Associate Pastor of Holy Spirit and St. Leonard Parishes. In my free time, I enjoy listening to music and reading.

I am excited to have been appointed Administrator of St. Stephen Martyr Parish and blessed to be walking together with the SSM parish community in faith and service.
